Todays Big Prom – 29th August 2009

I must have caught the same half hour window of blue sky as Mark Townley. Dashed out and grabbed these at 5.30 BST. Seeing was rubbish which caused a few weird gradients on the colour images, but I was just glad to get a good view of the spectacular big prom. DMK41/PST

Nice Collection of Proms in NE – 22nd August 2009

Nearly two months since i’ve done anything solar, but the big arch today got me interested again! I caught it between 11.50-12.08UT after its brightness and detail had subsided a little. DMK21/DMK41/PST.  By the way – its 44 days now without sunspots !!
