Ha, CaK, White Light of AR’s and Proms – 26/9/09

Cloud cleared away at 1pm today so I finally got a look at all these AR’s that everyone has seen over the last week. Some very wobbly seeing to contend with, but I managed to have a good look at everything in different lights. The seeing was so bad during the white light and CaK imaging that I didn’t bother stacking the results so these are just a single good frame in each case. Disks and SW Prom – 20th September

Was hoping to catch the new AR today, but it looks like it will be tomorrow before anything significant shows up. Not a lot to see otherwise except for the tiny fading AR and the SW prom which is changing shape quite rapidly (really did look like a scorpion doing a handstand as Brian said). PST/DMK41

Disk and Proms – 1st September 2009

Blue sky first thing this morning but the seeing was quite hazy. AR11025 barely registered on the full disk shot and even with a 2.5x barlow it was difficult to see. No spots visible, just a few transient pores and it looks like the AR is decaying fast already. Two nice faint but large proms visible though. DMK41/PST
